Question Gettysburg & Hershey at Thanksgiving

We are going to Gettysburg & Hershey over the THanksgiving HOliday. I have a 10 yr old daughter and 4 adults going.

I need suggestions on where to eat in Gettysburg. I would like an historic restaurant, but I need good food and not real expensive.

I have planned on doing the electric map in Gettysburg and then doing a guided tour with a personal guide. But any other "must do's" in Gettsburg?

Also I need suggestions to keep us busy for one day in Hershey. I was thinking of doing the chocolate factory tour, but that doesn't take that long. Then maybe ( depending on weather) doing the Christmas thing at Hershey park.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

We used to live nearby Gettysburg and while there would dine out frequently in that area. The Dobbin House was always one of my favorites along with the Farnsworth House. I was not impressed with the Cashtown Inn and cannot recommend it.

Hi,

We live in Middletown, Pa, which is like 10 minutes from Hershey Park. Their Christmas celebration is great, your 10 year old will love it. Lots to see & lots of rides to ride. We take our children every year, have fun & enjoy.

Their is also something that Hershey offers that they just started which is called Sweet Lights. It is really pretty neat. It is a drive thru which has thousands of lights & Christmas music playing. Reminds you of the old times. I would highly recommend this. It is right across the highway from Hershey Park.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me at any time.

The Dobbin House is wonderful and a must do, definite Gettysburg atmosphere! I would recommend eating at both the tavern and the upstairs restaurant. The Gingerbread Man is also good. I lived in Gettysburg for 4 years while going to Seminary! An awesome town!!

Peace,
Jeff
