Question Stratton Mtn.-- How expensive is the area??

Wondering how expensive it would be to stay/ski at Stratton?? We are entitled to great lift ticket benefits this year, but wonder the cost of meals, groceries, etc. I've checked lodging on their website and although a little pricey, it doesn't seem way out of line. I've also checked vacation rentals/cyber rentals and there is a huge jump in prices there. Any info. would be appreciated

According to Shaws Supermarkets (OSCO, Albertsons, Acme, Alpha Beta, & others).....they are avout 5 to 6 miles from that mountaig.

go here for directions, and more important, their weekly sales flier. It is usually several pages, and should give you an idea of grocery pricing.

It's not Shop Rite pricing...but I think they aren't much higher than most parts of the US.

I have owned a house at Stratton and skiied there since the mid 70s. The closest chain supermarket is about a 15-20 minute drive (Manchester or Londonderry) otherwise you can pay much higher prices and shop on the mountain or right off the mountain (in Bondville). You pay for the convenience of not having to drive too far.

As far as eating while skiing, burgers and fries ar probably around 5-7 bucks in a cafeteria type service, they have chicken nuggets, soup etc., cookies, brownies, hot cocoa, etc

The stores in the Stratton Village in the base area are high end specialty stores and have high end prices. We live off the mountain near the Stratton golf training center and pretty much avoid the stores there.

Stratton is not cheap to ski at ($72 a day without any passes or discounts), but the mountain is well maintained, great snowmaking and grooming, and varied terrain for the whole family. We wouldn't still be there after 30 years if we didn't love it. My license plate is STRATN is that tells you how much we love it there.

As far as lodging, I can't really help you out there since we own.
