This is a non-partisan post. It seemed likely that whoever one in November, prices would go up and were probably being held down for reasons best known to the oil companies.

Gas prices

Not sure about your area, but here in Chicago we have two major refinery turnarounds and major work going on. Citco is doing some major work till Dec 1 , 2006 and BP Amoco Whiting Ind. is just getting set for some big work (3 to 5 billion) over the next 3 years.
The turnarounds affect the supply in this area, and that in turn affects the price.
I can only hope these refinery jobs send some business my way. If so, I don't mind paying a little more for gas if it keeps my doors open for business and my maintenance fees paid for my timeshares.

Guess I need to plan another trip to Virginia Beach, just for the gas prices!

Gas prices go up this time of year due to the number of people traveling for the holidays!

Under $2.00...hasn't been under $2.25, and usually as high as $2.65 in Seattle area. When it was high it was almost $3.10+ in some areas here.

Just came back from St. Thomas (USVI) where prices are consistently just above $3 per gallon for regular.

Except for Aruba (has a big Valero refinery that supplies local stations) and Puerto Rico, same is true for most of the Caribbean.

But a bad day in the Caribbean beats a good day at home, even when buying gas

We're still paying $3.12 on Maui.
