I have not worked much with Marriott points.....can anyone give me a quick idea of what 75,000 could do.

Thanks,
Cindy

Not much. 65k gets you two nights in a top (category 7) Marriott hotel or resort. 73K will get you six nights in a lot of off-brand Marriotts (category 3). Those "point saver" awards have some capacity controls. To see which specific hotels are in each category, click on "hotel category chart" (second paragraph) and then select a category and click "Find" at the top right of the next page.

See this page for a starting point. Select any of the categories in the left column under "Use Points" to see available awards.

To see which specific hotels are in each category, click on "hotel category chart" (second paragraph) on the linked page and then select a category and click "Find" at the top right of the next page.

The best value of the points is for the combination hotel & air (FF miles) "Travel Packages". Click on "Browse More Awards" on the linked page.

Thanks Dave......I suspected it was a low amount. I have a person wanting to just get out and "give" me these points, but the maintenance fee is $800 so I thought I should do a little research.

You realize these are simply travel reward points? I don't even think they are transferrable to anyone except your spouse.

Checking where Dave sent you, they can be used to buy stuff, too. In most cases, it costs 150,000 MAR travel Reward points to exchange into a Marriott (MVCI) 2bed 2 bath for a week. (sometimes 135,000)
