My daughter may have to have her tonsils and adenoids out soon. Has anyone has an older child go through this? My other two were much younger when they had theirs out, and one of them took a week while the other took two weeks to fully recover. I've heard it can be more difficult as children get older and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Thanks,

Sharon

I had mine out at 18, I did it on Labor Day weekend on a Sat morning so i would have monday to recuperate too. I ended up missing work on Tuesday, but went in the rest of the week and then went to college the following weekend. I really needed more time to recuperate than I took. I sure wasn't feeling good that whole week i went to work. but I had this done a really long time ago and a gp took them out too.

I had mine out at age 17 or 18, senior yr of high school. Don't remember any problems.

My son had his out at age 21.....it took him a little over a week to recuperate.
