Has anyone bought or used these? I noticed them in an airline magazine and wondered about purchasing them to use on our Alaska cruise/Victoria trip next summer.

Sherry,

Someone posed a similar question on Tug about a year ago. I did a search but couldn't pull up the thread. If memory serves, most of the replies were negative about the combination binoculars/camera. I couldn't give you the specifics but for those that had looked into it believed that a dedicated camera would give you better pictures for what you were trying to achieve.
And I seem to recall that the zoom characteristics are much better on a dedicated camera, depending on the model.

They are probably of the same quality as telescopes that can be mounted as telephoto lenses on cameras. They work passably, but they do not give the quality pictures you can get with real camera lenses.
