Question Where to stay in Philadelphia, PA?

Four of us will be staying in Philadelphia in June of 2007 for a weekend trip. Since we are so use to traveling in a timeshare, could anyone give me some advice as to where to stay? Would really like something that has maybe a studio efficiency. I have never stayed at a B & B, but open to any ideas. We just like the room that we get from a condo, but also a refrigerator to keep things cool. Our six and three year old will be with us so I wasn't sure of the B & B. Please any suggestions.

Thanks
Barb

What do you plan to do in Philadelphia? If you are going to visit the liberty Bell and the Constitution Center and other historical setting I would recommend a Residence Inn in downtown Phil. FYI parking downtown can be expensive anywhere from $25 to$ 30 a night even in a hotel.

Residence Inn at City Hall

It overlooks City Hall and has spacious rooms. Ask for a corner room so you can see around the corner down Market St (I believe.)

As for parking, we were able to get on-street parking so didn't pay a dime! If you have a car alarm definitely activate it.

If you are spending the night I would not recommend off street parking at a minimum you could get a ticketed and worst you will get towed. The parking authority in the downtown area are very aggressive if the meter say 2 hour parking and you are in the same spot for than 2 hours but feed the meter you will get ticketed. Many of the parking sign can be complicated and they will tow you. From the Residence Inn you can walk very easily to the Franklin Institute. If you have been to the Constitution Center and have kids I would highly recommend a visit it very interactive. The Constitution Center is about 2 years old.

We often stay at the Embassy Suites. You have a choice of two double beds in the bedroom and sleeper sofa in the living room or king-size bed in the bedroom and sleeper sofa in the living room. They have a limited kitchen. Great location. Breakfast included.
