Resorts: Marriott Aruba Surf Club Marriott Manor Club Sequel
Please suggest a good place to go in either spring or fall

We want to go somewhere driveable. We are in NJ. 10 hours max. We have a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Would like to go when not too crowded. Either in the spring or fall. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Resorts: Wyndham points (Seawatch/Nashville), Newport Overlook, Island Park Village, Park Regency
Without knowing what your interests are, here are some nice resorts that meet your travel time constraint (these should all be available with even a weak trader):
  • Village of Winnipesaukee (NH) -- 2 and 3 BR available in September 07 (older resort, but lots of fun things to do with kids)
  • Fairfield Berkshires at Bentley Brook (MA) -- 2 BR available in September 07
  • Village at Smuggler's Notch (VT) -- 2 BR available in September 07
  • Barclay Towers (Virginia Beach, VA) -- 1 BR available in April and May 07 (even though it's an older resort and a 1 BR, all the units are oceanfront and I believe they've been refurbished in the past few years)
  • Fairfield Kingsgate & Sunterra Greensprings (Williamsburg, VA) -- 2 BR available in April and May 07

Resorts: Innseasons Resorts The Falls at Ogunquit 2 weeks, Imperial Fiesta Club Cancun, Villa Del Palmar PV.
The Cape Cod area and southern Maine coast are both nice in early fall and late spring. I own at Inn Seasons resorts the Falls at Ogunquit and prefer those times because less touresty. They also have reosrts on the cape and in Lincoln NH. They trade with II.

Fall or Spring

I'd suggest Williamsburg, Va...both Fall and Spring are great, but I love Fall the best because of the gorgeous foliage. It is spectacular, but check for peak foliage season. Mid-October sounds about right. It may be somewhat crowded, but anywhere great always is. You won't regret it. (Would you really enjoy Vegas in the middle of summer, or something similarly crazy?) No, peak seasons are worth the hassle. Colonial Wmsbg is unforgettable for kids and adults alike. (I have a timesharing friend who always, always travels to great destinations in the OFF-SEASONS, and his kids will NEVER know the beauty of a glorious Fall mountain scene, or a snowy mountainside town in Winter, or the beach in Summer! Shame!!!) jme

How about Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach. May not be within 10 hours depending on where you live in NJ, but if you made an overnight stop along the way it would break it up and make it a bit of an adventure. Choose a hotel enroute with an indoor pool or play area for the kids (and choose a time share with both in case the weather is cool.)

Pocconos lovely in the Spring

Pensylvania is wonderfull in the spring. Mostly older family resorts but it is close to NJ and great weather. Lots for Small children to do. The Dupont gardens in the eastern part of the state( Longwood and Winterthur) are world class. Every thing blooms in April and May.

Massanutten

Massanutten resort has lots of availability and tons of things to do for all ages. With their new indoor water park, I would think kids who loved water would be in heaven.

It is a very nice and beautiful drive during the fall foilage season in the Shenandoah valley.
