The last Christmas gift for the last: I have bought a total of 3, all in the Carolinas, in December.

The bid I won 2 minutes ago is Plantation Resort Myrtle Beach, a 2 bedroom float week from 22 to 35. MF is $570, closing $475 and county recording fee $35.

I was outbid once for a week 35 2 bedroom at Plantation Resort Villas. The final bid was $51.

I have read the resort reviews, but would like comments from tuggers whether I have done a wise decision.

This is an RCI Points resort. I will call the resort to find out how much it will cost me to convert, but any previous experience will be welcomed.

This will be my last ebay bid for the year. I will come back December next year.

sounds like a great buy to me. I'm glad you won it. I'm also glad I didn't see it - as I would have been tempted.

I think it's a good resoluation to wait till next December to bid again. I think some of the great deals are gone already. (I could be wrong).

I have to scrape up money for the Marriott Grande Ocean Gold I won.

I don't think it will go thru Marriott FROR though, but who knows.

Best wishes for a great New Year to all the tuggers out there. You make
timesharing a great experience for us all.

Peelboy, The next move for you is to move ot SC or N C. Enjoy your T S.

We own at Plantation, although we own a 3 bedroom lock-off in the Presidential villas section. This is a great resort in a great location - I think you will enjoy your purchase. There is lots to do in the resort, as well as surrounding it. They keep the grounds immaculate and the units are roomy.

Enjoy!

Strong1, I also live in Canada. Do you drive? That's a 16 hour door to door for me. Did you ever trade it with RCI? Though I am planning to use the resort most of the years, I would like to know the trade power of a summer week at this resort.

Peelboy, I do not know about RCI. I have II. Myrtle Beach in the summer is a hot trader.Watch out for May. Two large biker weekends. You have loads of golf, night life, beach, shows, great food and fishing. I am down there once a month. You are only two hours away from Wilmington N C. to the North. The seafood is great. Traffic is always bad in the summer. Summer is very hot. Drink lots of water. Enjoy.... Bobcat

Hey Peelboy,

We have an every-other-year usage at Plantation. The first time I used the unit I was travelling with 7 other women, so we flew (spoiled). Haven't driven it yet, but my husband and I are going next September with another couple so maybe we'll try driving.

We always use the 2 bedroom part and trade the lock-off portion once. The first time we got a Tradewinds cruise for our lock-off (score!!!), and we have an ongoing search with the second deposit.

My sister owns at the same resort, but they use their unit each year. Her best friend owns there too and they trade their 3 bedroom unit in for 2 deposits (they have a lock-off as well) and trade back into Plantation for 2 weeks in a row. Works for them!

PeelBoy, I have a 3 bedroom lockout at Presidential Villa at Plantation Resort. Its is Weeks resort. They let me book 2 years in advance, and I always book July 4 week. I never go there. Its a fabulous trader. I've been to London, San Francisco, New York, Santa Fe, Carribbean, I get just about whatever I want if I search early enough. The resort is kept up really nice. If I bought another, I would buy there again.

Congrats. I was watching that one too. From what I have read, you should be pleased. Glad a Tugger got it.

I just bought a 3 bedroom lock off summer wk here.

Sounds like a nice resort. Hope it is a good trader as well.

I'm pretty sure that this resort, like its sister resort (Presidential Villas) does bulk spacebanking. I know that PV does. I looked into buying PV last year and stopped looking once I heard bulk spacebank.

Spacebanking is a large group of weeks deposited by a resort with an exchange company at once. If you read the TUG sightings board(for members) there is one right now for a California resort. You will see them for top traders normally shoulder or off season. It does not always mean the resort is less desirable because there are top resorts that deposit this way. It also can happen with developer weeks to attract potential buyer interest for a new resort or expansion of an existing resort. For some resorts it can be an indicator of an easy exchange therefore an indicator of weak trade power. It all depends on the resort & location.

Summer in Myrtle Beach area is a real tough trade even harder than Hilton Head. Nine years ago ,Presidential Plantation Villas was one of our first RCI exchanges and our family was in heaven after years of hotels and camping. Although it is in Surfside not MB proper we had a great time. I think we were in the 2bd not the 3bd.
