His company is Timeshare Realty of Montgomery, TX; also known as SouthAfricanTimeshare.com and WorldwideTimeshareResale. He offered to buy my SA weeks advertised on TUG, sounds upfront. Before signing a contract stating he "agrees to sell" the property for me, I'd feel better hearing from any folks who have dealt with him ... anyone out there? He said he has a good reputation here; I've gone back months worth of postings but haven't found any mention of him. My eyes are glazing over, help! Thanks ...

Buying, Yes. Selling, No.

That's the broker through whom we bought our far-off 2BR standard-grade overseas timeshare week a few years back, strictly for RCI exchanges into nice USA timeshares. The transaction was trouble-free & we have been satisfied in all respects ever since. In fact, when we were ready to take the timeshare points plunge in a smalltime way in 2005, he's the broker we thought of 1st & we might have bought 1 of his minimal points packages if we hadn't found another even more minimal over at eBay. We've never sold him anything, nor asked him to handle the sale of anything. Now & then we get E-Mail "newsletters" from him, or from his agency. Still, even though we have nothing more to base it on than that 1 timeshare purchase way back, we still think positively of the guy.

He solicits listing fees with no promises of sale. He did get a listing fee from me some moons back, but I have since learned better... is he really agreeing to buy your week, or is getting you to pay a listing fee?

I don't know what mailling list he found me on but he has been pinging me via email to buy his SA units. I asked him to search for some other areas I am interested in but he only appears to be pushing SA. I am skittish about buying units outside the US for personal reasons. The prices he had on his site wasn't anything special.

I brought from him. He is honest and upfront. I have no problem dealing with him again.

I've bought from him

My experience is very similar to Alan's. I purchased 2 SA units a few years back. Had no issues.

Please note that he has several people saying that to buy from him is OK, but no one has said that he is OK to sell your TS.
