Are other owners at Plantation Resort Villas ,MB upset by closure of Deertrack Course

We were disappointed to learn that Deertrack Golf Course closed in October,2006. Although we are offered Platinum Membership at Indigo Golf Course we are wondering what will happen to the land that Deertrack was on and what about the view from our condo unit? I plan to attend the HOA meeting on March 9,2007 and encourage as many owners as possible to attend. I see that Election of Directors is on the agenda but no names of possible candidates are provided. I personally feel that owners who are unable to attend should consider giving their proxy to another owner.

As an owner I also am upset with Deer Track closing but the land was not owned by Plantation resort, and was purchased by developers who plan to build home sites & condos. Blame part of it on Horrey County for rezoning. The value of our timeshares and view will be much lower than previously. I purchased specifically for the view of the golf coarse which now will be lost.

Too bad. I just bought a 2 bedroom floating summer months for use every year. I wish the resort still can meet my needs: quiet, big swimming pool, clean.

Plantation Resort Villas Annual Meeting

Are any other TUG members planning to attend the annual meeting on March 9th at 4 pm ? This is the first time I have attended an HOA annual meeting. Am I wasting my time to attend ? I would like to feel that I do have a vote and my input matters.

I just bought a piece of land on a golf course. After hearing similar stories like this one (golf course owned by a developer independent of the homeowners), I made sure the golf course was owned by the HOA.
