AA Award
I know to have the best chance of a FF award. I need to book like a year or so in advance. What about last minute? I might be interested in LAX to Hawaii for Spring Break. Any chance of that happening? When should I look or is it a lost cause? Thanks

I tried to book in September, 2006 for a departure from Austin, Texas on March 9th (2007) with no luck. I know that you want to go from LAX, but the routing from Austin by way of LAX are the last to go. Routing through DFW goes first. You'll have to confirm this, but I believe the FF seats are available 11 months out. To get exactly what you want, your best bet would be to book at exactly the 11 month mark, or whenever the seats are first available.
You could always try for last minute, but you'd better have a back-up plan. There is a area on the website that shows availability by date to popular cities. You might check there to see if some of the dates would work. nonutrix Last edited by nonutrix : January 24, 2007 at 08:13 PM. |

Calidave-
I don't know what the dates for Spring Break are but I do see availability from LAX to Honululu most of March. There are two or three days where the pickings are slim coming back, but you may be able to find flights in Coach for the time you are looking for. I am surprised that I can see available FF seats at less than two months out. Good luck.. ![]() |

Our school district is off the week before Easter and the day after. So will be on the BI from March 30 to April 9th. We hit the spring sale on Aloha out of OC and it was $149 each way for four of us. I have checked since we booked and most of those cheap seats have been sold out. Today the 24th is the last day to book the sale. I only see Tues 4/3 and 4/17 with those $149 fares OC to BI.
I do know that United sends out an email last minute with a list of FF destinations available and many times it has included Hawaii. I imagine AA has the same type of alert you can sign up for. Good luck. Hope to see you there.

Lots of school districts actually try to avoid having spring break occur around Easter.

Combine holiday weeks with primetime Hawaii, and it makes it tough. But never say never, I've seen things come through which appeared impossible, like a super unlikely trade. It does happen, just never to me. Keep trying. AA is your best bet in my experience.
Good luck. Regards. Joe |
