Whenever I have a question that I can't answer I come here! This is the best place to get suggestions and answers. I'm trying to decide where to go in April 2008. I'm a teacher in New England so I know that it will be around April vacation. I would love some suggestions on places to go that are warm at that time of the year. Warm enough for swimming. There will be three of us going, myself, husband, and 17 year old daughter. (She won't want to travel with us much longer, I know!) It will be for one week. We love to swim, snorkle, relax. We're not much for nightclubbing. Aruba is not an option as we've been there quite often. We've been to Florida often, too. I like the idea of the Carribbean, but the flights seem so expensive out of Boston. So, any suggestions? Thanks! I hope that I've provided enough information, but I've probably forgotten something!

How far are you willing to travel, and how much do you want to spend for transportation?

How about a Caribbean cruise? Most of them depart out of Florida, so the airfare won't be high. It may be a change of pace for you and that way you'd be able to see a few places instead of just one.

sounds good

The cruise sounds good. We've been on 2 so far, never to Eastern Car.

We have time constraints, so I don't want to travel too far. Hawaii is out of the question for April for me.

Thanks.

You missed the Morritt's bulk banking on Grand Cayman for your dates, but an ongoing search might pull something... Morritt's Grand is beautiful, the Tortuga Club is right next door and shares the same amenities, though it isn't quite as posh.

There is one 1 bedroom left for April 12th at Morritt's Tortuga Club.

The location is divine. It is a pricey island, though.

April vacations...

Tabby,

We have found the April break is a great time to get away, Our break in New Hampshire is a week after yours normally.

Having said that, two years ago we ran off to the Outer Banks, Very windy and not swimable quite yet. Last April, off to the Bahamas (Jet Blue direct nonstop good price) and stayed at the Crystal Palace Resort. Our trip was great because of the weather ( no rain, let that at home) and the pool. The resort was a standard hotel and not much more, pricey food.

This year, off to Cozumel, and Park Royal. Newly refurbished and repaired. Actually catching a North west flight out to MSP and then down.

Florida was a great trip, but your right can only do that about every 5 years or so othewise ya get burnt on the mouse.

We went to Cancun in late April and absolutely loved it. It is after the spring breakers leave and before the summer crowd hits. Cancun was hit pretty badly by a hurricane 1.5 years ago, but has bounced back beautifully. The Royal Resorts (the best in Cancun, or anywhere for that matter) are not that difficult to trade into in April/May.

It is also a pretty good flight destination. We were able to be non-stops from Phillie. It is easier for us to get to Cancun than anywhere in the Western US.

I love the suggestions!

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I really have some good ideas now.

Concord NH: Enjoy your Cozumel trip! We've been there twice on cruises. Great weather! (Once was in April) It is good to have something to look forward to after Jan, Feb and March in NE! (Where is our snow though?) Your outer banks trip sounded great, you're right though, I want to be able to swim.

Sammy: I really like the idea of Cancun. I'm going to look into that.
