Thumbs down US Airways America West Shaky Merger

I booked a flight to Hawaii yesterday with the agents assistance. It included seat assignments.

The email confirmation did not have seat assignments for two of the legs and for the other two the seat assignments were incorrect.

After refusing to use their automated system (it has reached a new low) I finally reached someone who asked what the confirmation code was. She said that is the US Airways code gave me the America West confirmation code. Then I had to be transferred to a "specialist" who actually spoke English as her first language. With the new confirmation code all the seat assignments were correct.

BEWARE: THERE IS A US AIRWAYS CONFIRMATION CODE AND AN AMERICA WEST CONFIRMATION CODE (BUT THEY DON'T TELL YOU WHAT THEY BOTH ARE)

I hope the pilots know they have to fly west to get to Hawaii.

I flew to Maui from Boston on US Airways/America West flights in Sept. I booked it on the US Airways website. We had no problems at all.

We flew from Vegas to Maui last October. No problems. Flight didnt get changed at all. If I didnt have FF for Delta for Hawaii this year, I would be flying with them again.

Glad both your Hawaii flights went smoothly. I still have some concern regarding the 20% on time specification for the flight from Austin to Phoenix. We will see.

Morning conversation trying to get credit using my frequent flyer miles number went much better. Lady kept asking me what my previous address had been in L.A. Said I never lived in L.A. but just west of there. But she kept on.

Finally realized she was referring to Louisiana.

Anyway, if the flight gets to Lihue about 230 pm I'll be real happy as that is a couple hours earlier than normal.

Glad they got him before he hurt someone.

Sure hope that he doesn't start flying for US Air.

I used to work right next to US Air Corporate HQ in Crystal City, VA. From the outside you'd never guess in a million years they were going bankrupt. Luxurious facility.

I do corporate travel for our non-profit association so I have to deal with USAir consistently. I must say this is my least favorite airline. It is a chore to do just about anything with them, especially when it is a multi-city, America West/USAir combo. In addition, trying to use my EDs FF miles for flights results in total frustration. One 2-hour phone call was trying to get them to email an e-ticket because my colleague who booked the trip in my absence did not receive the e-ticket or confirmation. They flat out refused to send "another" one since according to them we had already received it. My solution now is to save the confirmation page online as a pdf and use that as the e-ticket. USAir seriously needs to start paying attention to its customers. Just my rant for the day

I try and stay away from US Air I had vouchers and when I tired to use them the price of the tickets were almost 3 time the price I saw on line. When I asked why they are that pricey I was told that the customer service reps are told to quote a high price so that the vouchers are useless, so I try and stay away from US Air
The worst part was the customer rep could hardly speak any English

My wife and I also booked America West and had problems with codes and had to call other numbers also

Personally, I hope that my pilots and navigators do know they can get to Hawai'i by flying east.
