What are Tuggers' experience with this site? THe $10 annual fee seems very reasonable.

Hi there - My experience has been that owners did not reply to my inquiry. I've had better luck contacting Tug members related to Direct Exch.

Are you trying to sell or exchange? I have had good responses to inquiries that I have made on units available for sale. I have read on the board that people have little success in working out exchanges.

I do have one question regarding direct exchanges. Say one works out a direct exchage with someone else. Each person adds the other to their reservations. Say that other person is set to use my week in May and I am set to use their week in September. What is stopping that other person from taking my name off of their September reservation after they take their May vacation. They could then use their September week or deposit it leaving me out in the cold. I know a lot of this goes on the honor system, but there is a potential for fraud. Are there any written contracts that could be used to protect both parties in these types of direct exchanges?

I have done 4 trades with Tuggers through the Direct list. Everything was done via email or phone (Hawaii, Lake Tahoe (twice) and Big Bear). There are contracts you can use....but its still the honor system. I suppose what you describe can happen (I know I've worried about it too)...but so far the honor system has worked. I like to believe in people...especially Tuggers.
