thanksgiving "bump" power
We want to fly from Chicago to Phoenix for Thanksgiving(Nov. 21-25). We live for the "bumps" and will try every flight we take. We know that Thanksgiving is one of the biggest travel days of the year. Is our best shot for a bump taking a early morning flight out of Chicago or a later flight? Do people take 1/2 days or full days when flying out? All suggestions and help would be appreciated. I know you can't depend on the outcome, but like to be in the "running" for the best chance.

Assuming you plan to leave on Wednesday, you'll likely have a better chance with a flight later in the day, although you'll risk not getting on a flight until sometime Thursday. If you plan to fly on Thursady, expect some open seats and no bump opportunity.
