When I travel, one of my favorite things to do is hit happy hour for a couple of cheap drinks and many free laughs at the place I land at (or close by). Whenever I read reviews or comments, I never see any comments on such things. Am I the only one that travels without children or at least in a position that this comes into play? And I won't be surprised if I'm the only single owner of a timeshare so no worries. It's all good but if you hear of something--let me know. :)

My husband and I always hit the pool bar right off at Club Land'or each October! I usually get a pina colada aka "dirty milk"....that meaning comes from getting drinks during past years on the cruise over to Rose Island. They would have all of the drinks in plastic milk jugs, hence me calling it "dirty milk" , lol, lol! Once when we had a flight delay, another couple and my husband and myself had drinks at the airport bar. It was the only time I ever drank early in the day.... I own on my own at Tropic Shores in Daytona, but other than that we own timeshares together. We always have fun. I am 51 and my husband is in his late 60's....P s we have only been married 2 years, we married in the Bahamas and we have no children at all...i love them, but never lucky enough to have them. I normally enjoy traveling without kids.

Heidi,

You are soooo not alone!!! One of the first things that I do immediatley when going on a beach vacation is to change into my bathing suit and go to the pool or beach and quickly get a Cosmo!!!

Every day is "Happy Hour" for me ~~ Of course were in the "Tropical Zone" in Florida ~~ I'm the "Resort Manager" here at our place so ~~ Come-on by & get served for the best & real cheap drinks ~~ I'm still tryin to locate my liver ~~ Happy "Happy Hour" to all ~~ :whoopie:

My husband and I are also big fans of happy hours - but I think they're pretty common in many locations so I'm not sure it occurs to me to include mention of them in reviews. Certainly all of the tropical locations I've been to have happy hours. Sand Acres and Bougainvillea Beach in Barbados had 3 happy hours each day - two at BB and the third at Sand Acres. Royal Islander Club La Plage on SXM had two each day - one at the pool bar and one at the lobby bar.

What I always find amusing is when the happy hours are 2-for-1 pricing, and they give you both drinks at once. I had never encountered that before a trip to Montreal some years ago - I think in many US states it used to be illegal to have two drinks served at once, but now it seems that's more common. In Vermont that was against the law until fairly recently - the waitperson would stand with the next drink in hand, but not put it down on your table until you had swallowed all of your first one.

We are child free and so have never traveled with children. We especially love the Keys & Disney (yep...2 non-parents take great Disney vacations).

I remember waking up in Key West & watching the sun rise over the Atlantic while coffee brewed. Gorgeous morning and, as I enjoyed the smell of coffee brewing, I thought.....mmmm that smells great, but I want a Margarita. So I had one!
