I own a nonMarriott desert resort>Aruba Surf Club Platinum trading power with II?

I own a floating week at the Desert Breezes unit in Palm Desert, CA.

This past weekend, I deposited a week 3 (2008) from Desert Breezes, and also week 5 (2008) from the Aruba Surf Club, with II. Both are associated with an AC.

I seem to be getting more nonMarriott resorts (eg Barbados, some Royal resorts in Cancun etc) with the Desert Breezes resort being displayed on the II web site, than with the Aruba Surf Club week. Why - I thought that the Aruba Surf Club resort would dwarf the Desert Breezes resort, in terms of trading power?

Is there a more direct way of comparing the trading power of these 2 weeks?

Any Marriott week which is red with II - associated with AC - similar trading power?

Marriott weeks do not see 'down' while your other week must be lower in quality - thus seeing at the same level, and slightly up and down.

Or, the other week is a 2BR while the Marriott week is a 1BR.

I own both Marriott 5 star weeks and non- 5 star weeks and the non-5 star weeks see much more then the Marriotts.

Both units have 2 bedroom units.

As it has been alluded - there are 2 factors in earning a resort a 5 star resort. One is quality - both are of equivalent quality. The other is that I believe that the resort has to pay II, for the privilege of being labelled as a 5 star resort. I can say that, because the 2 resorts earn an AC; and quickly scanning what the 2 resorts brought up in terms of potential exchanges on-line - they were similar for nonMarriott resorts - but the Desert Breezes had the larger number of 5 star resorts to exchange to!
