finally purchased HGVC at Waikoloa at resale- Thanks to suggestions from TUG and this forum.
I almost purchased from developer.
Buying resale cost me half as much.
Heres the problem:
I started the negotiations mid OCT/06
Just yesterday- I received the deed- 4 months later?????
No HGVC membership info- rights- privileeges-instructions- exchange info- absolutely nothing - just the deed-
I dont get it - had I bought directly- I could have made reservations fairlyimmediately I think
Anyway- I calll the timeshare closing company and they say it takes HILTON six weeks to process my membership once i receive the deed.
APRIL????
almost 7 months???
Whats worse
i have 14000 points I may need to use by 2007 - i can only make reservations for July or Aug- summer- I fear I may be too late???
I know everyone pushes resale- but no talks about the time factor-
any thoughts on this??? Is there anything i can do to expedite my membership?
Can one of you refer me to AnyHGVC contact person available whio i can speak with who can help?

You will be able to make reservations at many of the other HGVC resorts but may find it hard to reserve Hawaii at this late date. You can bank some of the points for use in 2008 and deposit some of the points into RCI which will give you 2 years to use them.

Sorry I don't have better news.

I wonder if the person you purchased the timeshare from can still make a reservation for you. Worth a try.

If it's not too personal would you mind sharing how much you paid for what size unit and points. Also, how much was the developer charging for the same unit. Additionally, where did you find the unit. We own at the Bay Club, HHV, and Flamingo and I'm toying with the idea of another timeshare purchase. Since HGVC just opened I didn't realize resales were already on the market. I love the Big Island.

Good Luck.

It should not take that long. What closing company did you use. Email me your info sethnock@hotmail.com and the closing company you used and I will see if I can get the change of ownership rushed. You will get a full membership kit from Hilton shortly

I would also like to know the terms of the sale for Waikoloa, if you don't mind sharing.

Thanks!
