Massanutten - Handicap Units

The Summit at Massanutten - Woodstone - Handicap Units

Has anyone stayed at The Summit or Woodstone in a Handicap Unit

Where are these units located - Do they have any special features
like higher/lower kitchen or bathroom cabinets - Do the 2 BR h/c units
still have the huge bathroom with whirlpool tubs - Need information
for a friend who has a reservation but does not know what to expect.

Does the resort offer any type of special discount for the Water Park
if a person is disabled - are the pool locker rooms - handicap friendly

Thanks

The Summit at Massanutten - Handicap Units

The Summit at Massanutten - Handicap Units

Q: Has anyone stayed at The Summit or Woodstone in a Handicap Unit
I asked this question for a friend about a month ago but never received
a reply - since then I had the opportunity to check out the H/C units at
The Summit at Massanutten

Q: Where are these units located - There is a building on Whistler Lane
than has a row of 4 townhouse style units.. 4 Upper and 4 Lower units
Parking is fairly flat and there is easy access to the units by walkway
(long wooden ramp the length of the building)

Q: Do they have any special features like higher/lower kitchen or bathroom
Cabinets - The kitchen sink and bathroom sink have cut outs so that
if someone was in a wheelchair the cabinet would not be in the way.
The micro wave is on the counter and the washer/dryer is on lower level.

Q: Do the 2 BR h/c units still have the huge bathroom with whirlpool tubs
The guest bathroom has the huge whirlpool tub and a separate easy to
walk in area with a bench and rails and an adjustable water sprayer.
The master bathroom looks the same except the tub has a bench & bars.

The Upper units have two skylights and a screened in patio
The Lower units have an open deck and an outside bar-b-q

Another question about Massanutten. We've booked a week in early June and were given unit 227L (lower unit) at the Summit. I've looked on the map on their website and can find the general area but I'm wondering if anyone knows if this unit will have a nice view of the mountainside or if it is blocked behind other units.

Thanks.

Summit at Massanutten - Upper and Lower Level Units

Massanutten Resort

Almost all of the regular units at the Summit at Massanutten
have front doors only - & - front or rear - decks or porches.

There are so many styles and floorplans. But the ones I like
the best are the four (4) Bedroom H/C units with an additional
option where you can enter from one side & exit the other side

Great Safety Feature
Units 187 - 188 - 189 - 190 U/L
with view of the mountain side
No need to worry about too many stairs!

Example:

Lower Level Unit
Go in One Door on the Lower Level and walk thru the unit
Then take the stairs up and out the Upper Level Door to the
Upper Level Parking Lot
This works even if you only book a 2 Bedroom (LL) Unit

Upper Level Unit
Go in One Door on the Upper Level and walk down stairs
thru the lower level unit and then go out the Lower Level
Living Room Door to the second parking area
This only works when you book a 4 Bedroom U/L Unit (Lock-Out)

May - Note - Electric Go Cart Park is Open
Beautiful Spring Weather and a Nice Breeze

Bed Room Features

Bedding

One Queen Bed in the Master Bedroom (Small TV)
Two (cheap)Twin Beds in Guest Bedroom (No TV)

The main drawback to the Summit units are the
really firm/hard cheap mattresses & boxsprings!

Hope Massanutten Resort management purchases
better quality bedding & linens when they update.

After staying at several Marriotts with new bedding,
beautiful linens and feather pillows, all I can say is;

The Summit at Massanutten is very nice,
" Its Not The Marriott"

Question Why not just call them?

If I remember correctly, you own there. Why don't you just call them to ask about the handicapped units?

And what is the purpose of the subsequent posts? You seem to know everything else.

The subsequent posts included a number of further suggestions and
critiques, some of which provided additional or alternative suggestions.
