Cottages at Shipyard, Hilton Head,Anyone Been there?

I was just given a choice for a 3br. unit at Cottages/shipyard. Has anyone been there? This is for August 08. I think it will be Hot! Hot! Hot! I'm a new member. I still haven't received my e-mail to sign into my TUG account. Thanks for any help....

cottages at shipyard

Hi, stayed nearby and although I was not inside, they looked nice from the outside, nice quiet location also....near the lagoons, nice porch areas.

We were in a 3 bedroom unit last October right next to a small pool with a hot tub and 3 gas grills. Though a little cool, the weather was wonderful and the beach was outstanding. These units are smaller in the common space (living room) but the three bedrooms with their own bath was fabulous. Small kitchen/dining/living space but we didn't really spend much time inside. If you're waffling about weather to take it, go for it. We'd return in a heart beat but are restricted by the 4-in-1 rule. No bikes provided with the units but we rented and they were delivered by the bike guys before we arrived. Have fun!

Thumbs up Cottages at Shipyard

Thanks for the help. I took the unit. I'm new to this website so I have a lot of learning to do. I hope this reply is posted in the correct way.

We own there and would be happy to answer any other questions (e.g. layout, location, etc.) you may have; post away...

I have a question regarding the Cottages. I am looking at making a trip in the summer of '08 with a 10 year old and 1 year old. I assume there arent activities the cottages but do any of the other resorts share activities and/or pool sites with the cottages?

Cottages activities

You're right; there really aren't activities at the Cottages. You are, however, within easy walking distance of the Egret's Point activity center and pool and can also take advantage of any of the Spinnaker resorts activities. Usually the place with the most activities is Waterside which is a quick drive. The Cottages has a smaller pool and hot tub which is usually not as crowded as the other places. Hope this helps.

Cottages

We went to the activities at Egret many times. They are very close to the Cottages and share activities. My son liked to decorate the beach totes. He also liked the candles and the picture frames.
