Which Williamsburg ts?

I am looking for Willamsburg for spring or fall of 2008 and only three resorts come up, Fairfield Kingsgate, Fairfield Patriots and Sunterra Greensprings. Which resort should I choose? We have never been there and we know the location is great for attractions and sightseeing. I thought there were many Williamsburg timeshares so I am surprised that only 3 are showing up. Can anyone give me advice?
Thank you.

IMHO, Greensprings is the nicest of the three you listed.

I have not been to the other two but did spend a pleasant week at Greensprings Plantation. I have pics of the resort and the 2 bedroom unit we had at http://travel.webshots.com/album/335231977xvIIhS if you'd like to look at them.

I have stayed at both of the Fairfields you mention, and would choose Kingsgate over Patriots Place. I've never stayed at the Greensprings Resort so I can't comment or compare to that one.

Williamsburg Resorts

We have stayed at all three and would rate them as follows:

1. Greensprings
2. Kingsgate
3. Patriots Place.

Thanks for your input. Should I go for it or are there better resorts in Williamsburg that I should try to wait for or put in a ongoing request for? I thought there would be more resorts to choose from this far in advance. Should I wait or is Greensprings a good choice?
Thanks for your help.

I agree with these three (3) resorts. I would add my number one (1) Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony
2. Greensprings Plantation
3. The Cottages at King's Creek Plantation
4. Fairfield Kingsgate and Sunterra Powhatan Plantation
6. Fairfield Patriots Place

Enjoy your week in Colonial Williamsburg, VA.

Thanks for the pictures of Greensprings, Doug. This gives me a better idea of the resort than the reviews. Looks great. Thank you.

While Greensprings is very nice, there are also pictures from our stay at Marriott's Manor Club. I would rate Manor Club as a much nicer resort than Greensprings and would take it over Greensprings. The only down side to Manor Club was the deck. Greensprings had a nicer deck to sit out on in the evenings.

If you want to view pics of Manor Club to compare to Greensprings to see if you want to hold out a little longer, they're at my webshots page as well. Just access them through the link in my signature below.

Zero Entry Pool

I liked the Zero entry pool at Greensprings, and it appeared that MC did not have one. Am I wrong there?

Thanks much.

These two Fairfields only trade via RCI. The Marriott only trades via II. I think Greensprings may be traded via either. OP: so what did you decide?

Manor Club does not have a zero entry pool. For that matter, Manor Clubs pools (three of them, two outdoor and one indoor) are on the small side IMO.

Thumbs up Sunterra Greensprings - Review March 2007

Just got back from Greensprings last week - March 30, first visit. Am a Renter, not an owner. Had a 4br lockout. Was wonderful. Friendly staff and lots for kids to do. Easy walking around resort, nice playground, great outdoor pool. Great location near grocery stores, gasoline, even Starbucks!

However, the indoor pool was CLOSED due to re-surfacing the entire week we were there. Fortunately, it was hot enough that the outdoor pool was open, though cold. We were allowed access to the indoor pool at the Powhatan, but we didn't go there. So if you're going soon and you want an indoor pool, check to see if it's open yet.

The rooms themselves were fabulous, maybe a little worn (big iron burn on carpet, broken blender, towel rack fell out of wall, minor things like that - but maybe this is a "rentor's" room and not one they give owners!)

Huge hot tubs, steam shower in great master bathroom. Nice kitchen, great patio. Maintenance came immediately when we needed a door fixed on tub. Two thumbs up.

Also MUCH closer to Jamestown than I realized. Anyone who visits really MUST must go see the site.

Enjoy your trip.

We loved Greensprings. And Jamestown is only about 5 miles away. We are going back again SOON!
