Williamsburg Dining
Need suggestions for restaurants in Williamsburg. We have a group of 5...including two 13 yo girls. We would love to have some fun places to eat dinner, but the tavern menus don't look appealing to the girls! We would also like at least one great seafood meal. The Virginia dining guide on the reviews page doesn't work, so if any of you have a top 5 list that would be great!!!

My family has been to Williamsburg numerous times over the last few years, and we always look forward to both the Italian food and New York style pizza at Sal's by Victor Restaurant. On a typical 3 to 4 day visit, we will eat there, at least twice It's a local favorite, but over the years, the secret has gotten out (maybe through recommendatios like this?), and during weekends, and holiday weeks, during dinner time, and now even luch time, you can expect a crowd. Not a "fun place", or touristy, but good solid, southern italian food, at very reasonable prices. When you get to Wiliamsburg, get one of the local Williamsburg "Activities" magazines, and you'll find an ad for Sal's by Victor (along with many other restaurants), including a 10% off coupon.
Another family-oriented restaurant, though more expensive, but offering numerous choices buffet-style (which allows picky eaters to find something they like) is Captain Georges Seafood Restaurant, which despite the name, has selections for meat eaters, including barbecue ribs. If you like something more exotic, I always try to have one lunch or dinner at Chez Trinh, a Vietnamese Restaurant. I'm sure you'll hear from other members about their favorite choices, as well. Enjoy, Nick R Chesapeake Beach, MD |

Barbecue
Can't remember the name of the joint, but there's a mom-and-pop barbecue place along the frontage road along the South side of I-64 between the two Williamsburg exits. Waaay good! Decent slaw. Good hush-puppies wet or dry ribs, briskit or chicken. Lots of napkins. Plenty of parking and they need it.

When my mother was still alive and living in Wmsburg, The Trellis was her favorite place and we always took in at least one lunch or dinner there when I visited. We also enjoyed Aberdeen Barn for a great steak dinner (their creme'de menthe parfaits were to die for as a complement to the perfect meal). I also enjoy Seasons which is in the heart of Colonial Wmsburg, and you can pick up an "online" coupon at their website (http://www.seasonsofwilliamsburg.com/) good for 20% off lunch and/or dinner. There is another place, I think called the Williamsburg Seafood and Steak House on Richmond Road as you come into Williamsburg from Lightfoot. Maybe a local can confirm or give us the correct name.

I mentioned the Restaurant.com certificates . . . there are several other restaurants featured there including the one in the Ramada Inn 1776 (which used to be decent when this was branded a Holiday Inn property), Food for Thought and Tequilla Rose. Those last two are new for us, so we'll see how they are.
