"Sea Ranch II" question

Has anyone stayed here recently? No reviews on tug. Only vri resort in outer banks (looking for the rci preference). Really don't want to rent anything, looking for a rci trade.

Wow, I just read that Outer Banks Beach Club is now also vri? I would really prefer this trade. Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for any feedback.

Anne

The units at Sea Ranch II were completely redone after very severe damage in Hurricane Isabel in 2003, and only reopened last summer. I don't particularly care for their glassed in oceanfront balconies for summer weeks, although they are probably nice in the winter weeks.

Sea Ranch II recently dual affiliated with RCI. For many years they were II-only. Most of their members who exchange trade through II.

Outer Banks Beach Club

Outer Banks Beach Club is managed by SPM Resorts not VRI. Outer Banks Beach Club I & II are both RCI affiliated. Where did you see that they were affiliated with VRI?

I've looked at Sea ranch II sometimes also.

The glassed in balconies, can they be opened for the breeze.

I skipped over something and should have commented previously.

The VRI connection - MROP purchased around 100 weeks at Outer Banks Beach Club II from Equivest Vacation club. MROP exchanged via ORE and ORE has now been bought out by VRI.

While VRI, as far as I know, do not manage OBBC II there is a tenuous connection.

That makes sense. Equivest's points club is withering away and dropping inventory. They have been selling other weeks at OBBC II to individuals.

The post suggesting VRI management at OBBC mystified me, as everyone there seems happy with SPM management. I had wondered if something was going on below the surface that I hadn't heard about and had made a couple of calls to people who would know, but not yet had them returned.
