Worth a stop
Just love Ogunquit. Here are some places you may want to visit.
Don't miss Bread and Roses Bakery Ogunquit village and the Village Market next door. I just love this bakery. http://www.breadandrosesbakery.com http://www.breadandrosesbakery.com The Steakhouse in Wells Maine was highly recommended by my student's who live in Maine but we did not get a chance to eat there last time. http://www.the-steakhouse.com/menu.htm Stonewall Kitchen is just wonderfully delicious. Wanted to visit the main store. Went to the store in Portland. http://www.stonewallkitchen.com/SWK_directions.aspx

Lobster is currently going for $ 18 a pound. Pray for some warm weather and a good lobster catch.

Go to www.chowhound.com
Go to the New England board, then to Sunday 4/8/07 - there is a post about Kittery Point area lunch. I think you may get a few ideas. You'll have to register to ask questions though. Enjoy your trip - love Ogunquit. I think a few places will be reopening even now. |

By all means go to Warren's Lobster House in Kittery - http://www.lobsterhouse.com/.
I was born and lived in Maine for 31 years and Warren's is one of the few reasons that I ever go back. Dick Taylor |

Some other places to consider
I stayed in Ogunquit in September 2005 and here are a few places we ate at.
The first night at the resort we were referred by the staff to eat at Mike's Clam Shack in Wells. It was packed (of course it was a Friday night so that did not help). While waiting we spoke to a couple of people, two of which were natives and raved about the place. Well, I have to say it was pretty darn good. However, beware when you go back East, they serve you way to much food. After a few times eating out, we realized we could share a main meal with a salad or soup and be plenty full. I had scallops my first night and they were excellent. We also ate at Jackie Too in Perkins Cove. Had excellent crab cakes and a huge spinach salad. While in Portland we ate at a French restuarant called Mimm's. this was a referral by my friend and was very good. If you want pizza, try Saco House of Pizza. It was a little whole in the wall, but we were so hungry after a busy day in Portland that we decided to stop there. It was gooood. One other place worth mentioning is Vinny's East Coast Grill. It is an Italian restuarant right up the street from the resort in Ogunquit. I am not one to eat pasta and meatballs out, but I decided too and was not disappointed. It was fabulous. My friend couldn't believe how good the meatballs and sauce were and the pasta was cooked ala dente, just the way I like it. The only place we did not like (this also was a referral from the resort) was Billy's Chowder House in Wells. I had fish and chips and did not like it at all. |
