Resorts: Wyndham, Morritt's Grand
FF Newport @ Long Wharf

We will be vacationing @ FF Newport @ Long Wharf in June and I was wondering if anyone has stayed at this resort and have any info or advice to share concerning the resort. Should we request a specific area / room of the resort? What about the general area for beaches, shopping & restaurants?
Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts.

hi,

Are you going to be at Long Wharf Resort? Some people confuse the Inn at Long Wharf with the Long Wharf Resort? They are right next to each other.

I am an owner at Long Wharf Resort, but have never stayed for more than a couple of days.

I have a 2 bedroom. It is okay for two couples, but small. The kitchen is a galley type. A dining table that sits four, that is part of the living room.

TV in livingroom and only one bedroom.

Both bathrooms are pretty small, but okay. Not a lot of storage per say.

You have no ocean views, but you can walk to there in a moment. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking you may be disapointed with the kitchen supply.

It is away from all the noise, and you can walk to most stores and restaurants. It really is in a great place.

You may want to drive to the mansions I'm sure.

Newport is one of those great walking towns if the weather is good.

Beaches - you have one about a mile away - Easton. However, you won't want to go in. Temps in the water will be pretty cold. Sitting on the beach may be fine - we are all having such crazy weather.

Easton will have some surfers, no matter what the weather, so always a good show.l

There are also a couple of other beaches, which I believe are in Middletown, not far.

Just for pictures you'll want to do Ocean Drive, beautiful ocean views, and a great way to see how others live!

I will tell you that the pool area can sometimes get a bit crazy. A lot of owners stop by on wekedends. However, I do believe that they have added another pool.

Hopefully someone else that has been more recent will chime in here.

You will have a great thime there, especially if you enjoy walking. There is so much to see, and if you like to walk around and like achitecture you'll be so happy.

Next you'll want to know about restaurants right?

So ask away about, just let us know your likes.

Thanks for the info. We are at the Long Wharf Resort. We will be there with our 11 yr old son in a 2BR, so it sounds like we will be fine.

We love seafood and hope to find a "Clam Bake", do you know of such an animal? We are will be looking for family atmosphere with moderate pricing.

I see in the description only "some" 2BR have washer/dryer, what gives? If we don't have a washer/dryer are there facilities on site?

Any suggestions for the 11 year old?

Thank you so much for the info.

If no washer and dryer in unit there is a laundry area, which I have never used.

Off the top my head can't think of any restaurant that serves clam bakes for individuals, but I'll try and think a bit more.

For your son, Battleship Cove in Fall River may be fun

Here's some info - just make sure it is up to date:

Don't remember the clam bake. But I drove from south, just before enter to town, there is a fast food place that sell lobster sandwich, less than $10 3 years ago. Can not remember its name though.

Don't know if 11 year old will like visit the mansions, there is an outdoor animal shaped garden.

Take a drive out to Galilee/Point Judith, where the fishing fleet is. Several excellent and moderately priced seafood joints out there.
