Outer Banks NC / Nags Head ts rental?
I'm a "newbie / lurker" and do not yet own a timeshare (I'm in the rent and test 'em out phase!)
I'd like to visit the Outer Banks in July but can't find websites thru which I could actually rent the ts. I've seen thru RCI that several resorts there are ts, so I know they are there! If I don't own and therefore can't be an RCI member, how can I rent? Is July even an option or would any ts at the beach be booked well in advance and a non-owner doesn't stand a chance? Thanks! Outer Banks Resort Rentals www.outerbanksresorts.com handles timeshare rentals on the Outer Banks. They have availability during July. Their website is not very good. You'll have to call them at 252-441-2134 or email at vacation@outbanksresorts.com

The firm mentioned by Judy is very reputable. They have been involved in timeshare rentals and resales almost as long as there have been timeshare resorts on the OBX.
You might also try individual resorts, where you might find better prices, and also perhaps be able to negotiate a price. Many resorts have a rentals board on the wall at the resort, and a telephone call to the resort could get you info on weeks availible. The only HOA that posts rentals on the internet is Ocean Villas I, where you can find owner rentals on their website. Several others have indicated an interest in such a feature, but as far as I know, that is the only one up yet.
