Jennie, is this the Timeshare Owners Group that is listed in Timesharing Today? I had inquired once about joining that group, but had a problem reaching the contact person via email.

Yes, that's us. I'm sorry to hear you had trouble reaching us. At one time we had an older couple serving as Board members for Nassau and Suffolk Counties. They travelled a lot and were not efficient in responding to potential member requests. Unfortunately we didn't know (or expect it) until after the fact.

Hi Everyone,

I'm dealing with a flooded basement. It's the first time this has happened in the 23 years we have owned the house. Thank goodness it contains only junk--the basement I mean. Maybe this is the excuse I need to get rid of a lot of useless clutter. How's that for "when lifes gives you lemeons, make lemonade" The biggest problem is that we have had to turn off the furnace for fear of an electrical short causing a fire. I guess we'll be without heat or hot water for many days.

Anyhow, back to the issue at hand. I'm delighted to hear that you all want to attend the meeting. I'll send more info about our group in a PM later today. Welcome!

Johnmfaeth, you and I have been doing our good deeds simultaneously at the Redweek.com forums. It's sad to see how many people are still being suckered into buying over-priced developer weeks, paying upfront scam fees, and are clueless about the rules against renting out exchanged RCI and I.I. weeks, etc...I really appreciate and respect all the knowledge and info you share. I'm so looking forward to meeting you in person. Jennie

Hi Jennie,

Good luck with your flooding. We had about a foot of water by 10 PM the night Floyd hit. Had three siphon hoses going out the window and down the driveway that night and the still water level held until the morning Would have had several feet otherwise is my guess.

And at 6 PM yesterday, the flooding started again. Was at 1.5 inches at 7 pm when discovered.

Luckily I had gone to home depot 10 years back and bought a pair of Flotec utility pumps (about $80 each) and they kept the water in check and it's now down a bit and catching up. You may want to do a depot run this morning, they're great.

The good news was that Floyd soaked 20 boxes of junk that were then tossed, I haven't missed any of it in a decade.

Thanks for very kind words. Truth is my attending is 3 years overdue, really glad you posted this thread.

Jennie, I just saw this thread now , Came close to missing it. I wish you would also post these on www.Timeshareforums.com If you can. I would like to try to attend if you have room for me. This is fairly close to my home , within 20 min. I will be coming back from the Poccono's on that day but will try to get back in time so I do not miss to much of it. I can not say for sure if I can make it. I might be coming in an hour or two late if thats alright.
