Vacation Village at Parkway on hold

I have a unit at the Vacation Village at Parkway on hold. It is a very busy week and the check in is perfect - Friday 2/15. We are going for my son's birthday. The unit is the smaller side of the lock-off with a partial kitchen. I am having some second thoughts about the unit on hold since it is the smaller side of the lock-off. It seems like many people complain about the noise and other misc issues. I just pulled it from RCI inventory, I did not have an open search. Should I release the unit and open a search or use some of my Hyatt points to get a nicer property, perhaps we could get a Disney Vacation club unit?

Yeah, release the week! That is not a good exchange for your family. You should wait about a month, or even two, for a Vistana Villages, Summer Bay, or Hilton. You should be able to get a two-bedroom. I prefer the Hiltons myself, but there are so many great choices. You are looking out ten months right now. I find my best choices about 5-10 months out, so I would recommend waiting a few weeks and watch often. If you put in a request, they will not necessarily give you what you want. I don't trust RCI to do the right thing by me, that is for sure.
