What is the most unusual thing that you have found in a timeshare? We liked th pool table in our unit at Marble Canyon.

Oh No!!! I am a guest!! Why can't I figure this thing out!!! {sigh}

A dirty diaper in a dresser drawer!!! Not a pleasant surprise at that!!!!

At Samoset: Diaries by other guests who wrote what they did and where they ate and how they felt about those things. Gave us some ideas! Yes, we added some things too.

At Sunset Ridge St. John - A large collection of books and about 15 VCR movies that owners/guests had brought down and left for use by others.

The unit also had a log book where info was shared and owner's doumented "contributions" of small kitchen/household items like a shrimp deveiner, cheese grater, extra flashlights, etc.

Made it feel like a home we shared with our fellow owners vs. just another timeshare.

It's a St. John thing...just that kind of mindset pervades the entire island.

Maybe it's an island thing. Tristram's Landing on Nantucket also has journals, loads of books and games, and extras for the kitchen. I've left a few things for the kitchen and entertainment myself on my visits.

A poisonous snake  in Bali, Indonesia.

I found it in the bathroom when I visited during the night :( .

A kind night watchman (with limited English language skills) came with his torch, looked at the snake, disappeared, returned with a metal tool then shut himself in the bathroom. I sat on the bed for about half and hour listening to what sounded like demolition work in the bathroom. He came out looking very pale, dripping with perspiration, pointing to the bloodied floor and pulverised snake.

He took the snake away and the next day we were told that it was a spitting snake that can strike from quite a distance.

A condom in the bedside night stand.

Thankfully it was new and unopened :ignore:  :D

We reported it to guest services and they were very apologetic and gave us a $50 voucher for a great restaurant across the street. :)

joanne- that would be a great idea to have continuing diaries in TS's. as you may know, the shelters on the Appalachian Trail have those, but i'm afraid that the hk staff in TS's would just throw them out. -----ken

We were in a t/s unit at Samoset. The diaries were in 'regular' diary books in a bookcase in the unit. Guess the housekeeping staff knew to leave them alone.

Love the diaries too! You may have read one of our notes, or maybe we ready yours...Also, we liked the lobster pot in the unit..

No, we haven't brought one again, to try the same thing! :D

The $50 was only about half the meal cost, the restaurant was very, very nice. So we were very lucky to find out little packaged friend! ::whoopie:
