As a WM owner via resale market, would I have access to Affiliate Resorts, Direct Exchange Resorts, and Associate Resorts?

During a recent conversation with a WM sales representative, he said that if I were to purchase WM credits via resell I would not be able to have access to the above resorts in addition to not receiving travelshare.

How do you know when a timeshare saleman is lying ?

His lips are moving

I bought resale and have access to everything except Travel Share (a bad deal anyway IMHO). But since Cendant bought Trendwest, things have been changing. A new program called TEN is in the works, but hasn't been officially announced or explained. Here is a link to a discussion about it on the Worldmark Owners BB http://www.wmowners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10740
Much of the discussion is speculation, but it might help you figure out whether there was any grain of truth in what the salesman told you. I'm rather confused myself, so I wouldn't try to give you an answer

I wouldn't trust WM period! <---- exclaimation mark?

Well, I called WM and they told me Flex in II is 45 days. I said, are you sure it's not 59 days? I think RCI is 45 days.
WM: NO, it's 45 days for II!

I said ok and hung up. I think she was tricking me to give up more credits.
I am thinking about selling our WM credits.

They all lie.... sales and customer service. Do I lie? hehehe I think we all bend the truth sometimes.

How do we know it's a lie? You believe and later in life, you will find out.

Oh and one more...

I asked is there blue/green week studio that is 3000 credits?

WM: No, there is no more 3000 credit weeks but they are all 4000 credits or more.

Hmm....I have seen the blue week credit charts for WM resorts and I saw 3000 credits for some.

I mentioned about the chart and she said that is really old chart. I saw it and it said 2006. So that changed in 2007?

Please tell me I am wrong.

You are not wrong. There are even 3000 credit 1bedroom units available. They can't raise the credit values on exhisting resorts. However you can't deposit a 3000 credit week with RCI or II, WM picks the week to deposit and will charge you 4000 credits even if you can book it for 3000 credits. You can book it for 3000 credits and deposit it your self with DAE but you ca't with RCI or II

I spoke to TWO WM reservations agents last week regarding affilicated resorts - we CAN call them to reserve affiliates even if we bought resale.

Re: RCI or Wynham... I forget, but think we can exch into Wynham resorts by calling WM reservations directly. But without RCI or Travelshite, cannot book RCI resorts.

Talked with WM counselor and she said you can deposit 4000 credit or 5000 credit week which would be 1 bedroom blue season.
I asked if I can use that for Flex week.
She said NO. you have to use 4000 credit that is in your Worldmark credit. You can't use the week you gave to II.

True or False?

If you spend 4000 or 5000 credits for a deposit first week, the exchange department will deposit a week for you with the exchange company (I use Interval International). You can use the week deposited for whatever it will pull online and/or use it for an ongoing search. During the flexchange period (within 59 days prior to arrival) you can still use it for whatever it will pull. However, if you are withing 59 days prior to arrival, using the Worldmark float week for an exchange will only cost you an additional 4000 credits + exchange fee. In other words why use your deposited week that cost 5000 credits when you can spend only 4000 credits for a "flexchange". You would do this if your deposited week was about to expire, or you didn't have 4000 credits left to spend, or you simply wanted to use up the deposited week for whatever reason.

confused. for flexchange w/ II, can't i just tell ii to 'pull' from my wm acct if I see a resort I want? then II contacts wm to pull 4000 from my wm acct? This VS deposit first aas u described above?

Also if i did deposit 5000 first and get a 4000 flexchange resort, won't wm/ii refund me the 1000 cred?

True.
When you search first you have all of WM power behind your search. When you deposit first (especially a blue week) the power you have is associated with an off season week.

Yes, you can tell WM to take credits from your account if you see a resort you want. If it's more than 59 days before arrival then it will be full credits (10000 credits for a 2 bedroom in red season); if it's 59 days or less prior to arrival it will be 4000 credits. If you spend 5000 credits then the exchange department deposits a week into your account; if you use this deposited week whether it's more than 59 days before arrival or less than 60 days before arrival there is no change (no refund of credits).

The advantage of depositing a week (for example spending 4000 or 5000 credits) is that you might find a resort you like with the deposited week more than 59 days before arrival. This week would normally cost you say 10,000 credits for a 2 bedroom unit, but your deposited week (only cost you 4000 or 5000 credits) can be used for the exchange. Thus a credit savings of 5000 or 6000 credits.
