All-Inclusive Resorts

Hello,

My wife Diana and I are interested in any information anyone can share regarding a stay in an all-inclusive resort. RCI trades to a lot of Mexico resorts that show a 32 dollars per person per day inclusive rate.

1). Any favorites?

2). What is included in the all-inclusive... Childcare? Recreation?

3). Where are these resorts? Mexico and ...?

4). Any good suggestions for a traveling couple with 3-year old?

We both get a lot of time off this summer... June,July and up to August 15.

Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

-Rob

I am certainly not an expert on the subject, but I have not seen AI resorts in Mexico for $32 per person. Seems they are more in the range of $100+/- per person range. Seems at the $100 rate they are very overpriced. Just my opinion.

AI's

Our very first winter holiday was at the Canto del Sol in Puerto Vallarta. Our son was 10 at the time. We LOVED the all-inclusive feature! We did not have to carry any cash with the exception of tip money for the waiter. The AI fee is for food and drinks basically. Most of the resorts also run a "kids club" with activities every day - free of charge. My son joined some and some days he just hung out at the pool with friends he made! My son loved being able to go into the snack bar and restaurants and get his food and drinks - and I loved not have to break the budget and say "no"! Last year we stayed at the Cancun Oasis which is also an AI. We have decided that this is the way to travel - especially when you have kids. It gives them the opportunity to try new foods without the risk of paying for a meal he won't eat! When we were in Cancun this Jan we signed up with Royal Holiday and from what I can see from my book, the AI fee for Mexico resorts is $48/day for adults and $24 for kids 5-12 years old. For a week's stay for 3 of us it would cost $840 which when broken down that way is not so bad!
