How to Maximize Hotel Points? 60 Day Stay

I am being relocated with work and intend to stay in a hotel for up to 60 days. I will be staying in the southern portion of Youngstown, OH, for my stay. Which hotel has the best point plans? Holiday Inn Express? Marriott? Are there credit cards I can apply for which will further point benefit? I would like your best opinion! Room rate cannot exceed $200 per night. Thanks so much for giving me some direction!!

Resorts: Tristram's Landing, Tree Tops Gatlinburg, Mystic Dunes (formerly Wyndham Palms), Tybrisa, Sheraton Vistana Spas and Foun
You should probably hop over to www.flyertalk.com to the most comprehensive discussion of all the hotel programs.

Personally, I like Marriott very much. They have a credit card that charges an annual fee, but gives you a free room night each year. They give you extra points when you pay for a Marriott stay with it. I believe they just raised their incentive to join to 20,000 free points.

I like Choice Hotels (www.choicehotels.com). I have a VISA card that has no annual fee and earns points for not only hotel stays, but those points can also be converted to miles (or points) for many airlines. I use mine for Southwest and get several free flights per year. I got started with them the same way you are...I was working out-of-town for a month. My company paid for the room and I raked in the points.
