Southwest now booking thru Nov 2

I just got the "Ding" notice that fares are now available thru November 2. I hope it helps someone.

Question - I need to book a trip on SW, using my rapid rewards account. My departure date is Nov 2, and my return date is Nov 9. I have never had this happen before - that the reservations window has opened up to cover one leg of my trip, but not the return leg. Does anyone know how I would handle the situation?

This happened to me earlier this year when I was trying to book my trips to Orlando & Las Vegas. I had to wait until the opening of the next date range to book my return flight.

If you wanted to take a chance, you could book it as two one way tickets and go ahead and book the November 2 date and then wait till it opened to book the November 9 date.

Southwest has added a feature to their website: a statement indicating when the next schedule extension is likely to be released - June 28, with schedule available through January 16.

Yes, that was my basic plan - BUT, when booking through rapid rewards, don't you have to book as a roundtrip? That was the basic thrust of my question. Is there any way to use rapid rewards for two separately booked one way trips? I am a relative newbie to rapid rewards - I have used it a couple of times over the last year or so but have never had to deal with anything other than booking a "plain vanilla" round trip, with the reservations all made at the same time.

When my wife booked one last year, I think that she had two numbers, one for each leg. Check and see if you do have two and if so, you probably can do it. If there are questions, call Southwest.

I will call them, thanks. I've got to imagine this comes up from time to time.

Booking 2 1ways is no problem. Every trip I book thru SWA I book as 1 ways. That way if you have to change your going, or return times, you don't have to cancel it all. This comes in handy if your flight is no longer showing as available for rewards..

Booking as two one ways is no problem. I just did it for our Cabo trip 27 Oct - 3 Nov. First time I've been caught between schedules also. Glad to see the posting for anticipated opening of the next schedule for Jun 28th. Thanks.
