II Rules for a Studio Exchange

I have been told a number of different things by II reps about the ability to exchange my studio for a larger unit. I have often exchanged for a one bedroom in resorts where a one bedroom was the smallest unit size offered. However, can I exchange my studio for a one bedroom if the resort also has studio units? I am not trying to put in an ongoing request, this would be for a unit that is available.

Just out of curiosity, does II allow you to exchange an efficiency for a 2 bedroom if it is available and if this is the smallest unit size the resort has? The II rep I spoke to said no (except during flexchange) but I thought that I had posts from people who had done so.

When you search online in II, you can book any size unit that you see with a studio. What you will see will depend on what II considers a "comparable" trade. Often I will be able to see 1BR, 2BR and even larger units with a studio. And this is way before flexchange - it just depends on that "comparable" exchange status.

You can also put in an ongoing request with a studio for resorts that only have larger units and get one that way, again, depending on whether II considers it a comparable exchange.
