car rental upgrade coupon

I have a SUV reserved thru Alamo for next week at MCO for about 190.00 with the add'l driver free.

It only seats 5 people, but now 1 day, possibly 2 days, since my mom is coming with us, I need a 6 passenger vehicle.

Where can I find a coupon for a free upgrade with Alamo? I don't want to pay 450.00 for the larger vehicle when I have such a good rate now.

Other option, rent a larger vehicle for the 1 day?

Alamo will upgrade me free if I have a coupon for the upgrade which I don't have one. I have coupons for the rate and add'l driver

Check Costco's deals if you are a member.

Not a Costco member. Will have to check out Sam's Club. With mousesavers I can get a minivan for 330.00

We have 5 adults and a 5 year old. Hate to pay 140.00 more for the one day YUK.

We will be driving from the east coast into Orlando 1 or 2 days when we need the larger vehicle. Other days, our other d. is going and will have the 2 vehicles.
If we were in the Orlando area, I might chance it for the short drive, but driving from the beach to Orlando, longer drive and sure don't want to pay a fine.

Maybe I will pick up a last minute special. As of now, I have a decent rate and the extra driver is free.

Happybaby,

The reason I posted the mousesavers/alamo link was because their site had a hyperlink for Alamo coupons. I thought that perhaps they had one for your upgrade that you could apply to your existing rental.

From your response I guess what they had didn't apply and the rental rate from their site was more than your existing rental.

Good luck in trying to get a coupon.

But if it is about $50 for standard membership in Costco, and $330 for the upgraded vehicle using any Mousesaver coupon....why not join Costco? You would be surprise at how much you can save in a year even if you don't have a Costco near your home. That would be $90 savings right there - the $140 increase you won't have to pay, less the membership cost.)

OR - have the second driver rent an econmomy car for a couple days. With the price of gas, you could use that for short grocery runs, or something like that.

Plus, you can buy stuff from Costco.com, book travel, and rent vehicles from the website, even if you never set foot in a local warehouse. Just the savings on my car insurance alone through them more than pays for my membership.

thanks for the replies

Think we will just rent a smaller car for the 1 day if needed for about 30.00
No sense paying for a mini van for the whole week when we just need an extra vehicle for 1 day. And even that day everybody may not go back to the WDW parks.

Besides I would need probably 2 upgrades since I have the smaller SUV now

thanks again

I am a Costco member but have never been asked to provide proof of that. We almost always seem to rent using their discounts.
