Voltage Converter Needed in Ireland?

I've read it somewhere on this site but I can't seem to find it. My question is:
Do I need a voltage converter for my curling iron in Ireland or will a plug converter be all I need?

On the curling iron it reads: 120/240 VAC 60/50 Hz 85W. I sure don't want to ruin it but I don't want to be left stranded either.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Just a plug adapter for the curling iron, but there's probably a little switch to change it to 220 volts.

Last time I tried that trick I got fire to shoot out of the wall and triped a BUNCH of breakers or fuses.

Yes you will need a converter, not just an adapter. Some curling irons or hair dryers have duel voltage but to be honest, I haven't seen that many. Most hotels offer converters for use. I'm not certain about the timeshares. The few times I've been oversea's I've found it's just about as easy to pick up a hair dryer or curling iron once we get to our destination. That way I know it will work with their voltage.

The OP says it reads as a dual voltage appliance that draws 85W, so you will definitely only need a plug converter, not a transformer.

85W is about the same as a mid sized laptop, and their power bricks are also always dual voltage.... you can pick up a plug adapter in a store in the airport when you land before leaving the airport.
