I own a 3 bedroom OV unit at the Marriott Ko Olina. I have never had experience exchanging a 3 bedroom before. For those of you who have 3 bedroom units, are you generally successful at getting a 3 bedroom exchange or do they sometimes offer you a 2 bedroom plus a studio if there isn't a 3 bedroom unit available? I was wondering if it is more advantageous to lockout my unit to trade for a 2 bedroom plus a studio since more of those are probably available than 3 bedroom units. In particular, I am hoping that I will be able to exchange into a 3 bedroom at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club sometime in the future. I know that since the 3 bedroom units are only in the new wing, the likelihood of me getting a 3 bedroom trade into Maui Ocean Club is probably close to zero for the next few years. I'd love to hear experiences and get advice from 3 bedroom owners. Thanks.

I dont own a 3 bedroom but will try to help anyway.

Most resorts dont have 3 bedroom units so exchanging with a 3 bedroom is usually going to get you into a smaller unit. I would lock off the unit and deposit seperately. Very few 3 bedroom lock off units ever make it to II.

You will not be offered a two bedroom and a studio for a 3 bedroom. II doesnt work that way.
