This ebay ad link is an other example of an ad gone wrong.

First it is a great price for a floating spring -fall EOY week at a very nice TS in whistler. But the seller laman32 ( a postcard TS salemen) has most of the big info wrong. It is not a RCI TS but a II TS and it isn't a Shell TS but a TS managed by Shell. So as a buyer you'll be getting a very nice EOY TS in Whistler. But not a RCI TS or a Shell TS.

Second, I'm not happy about these postcard saleman selling units at one of my TS. ( I currently own 2 weeks at the mountainside) I feel that this unit is worth alot more than the $295 buy it now price.

Maybe I just shouldn't look at these ads. :wall:

Hey, look on the bright side! There's also the $619 in closing costs (including the $220 resort transfer fee.) Plus, you have to pay the 2007 MFs ($519), but it's a floating week, and this late in the year you probably can't reserve anything good for 2007. Then, you don't get use again until 2009.

So, it's really a lot more expensive than it looks.

I've seen many timeshare auctions like this. They apparently use an old eBay auction as a template, and fail to change all the pertinent information that relates to the new auction.

Somehow the recent buy in price are all in lower site, I wonder if they are trying to kill some companies that maybe pay the owner to get their inventories?

When I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

I emailed the seller and they corrected the ad.

Here's another error:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=200110529312&rd=1&rd=1

This ad states in large red letters that the TS is a "huge 3 bedroom 2 bath condo"; then in the next paragraph it says it's a 1 bedroom, 1 bath.

I sent a message thru eBay and asked which it was, and the seller (sellingshares) responded, "This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath E-Type unit." I sent another message asking what an E-Type unit was. I'm thinking efficiency; which doesn't make sense if it's a 3 bedroom.

I like this part: The closing fees will be paid by the seller, but are due from the buyer at closing.....?

Closing costs are paid by seller (a savings of $399), which include Escrow, Lawyer's Fees, Document preparation, and resort notification of transfer of ownership. The resort also charges a $220 transfer fee.

Total Monies Due = Final Bid Price + $399 (Closing Costs) + $220 (Resort Transfer Fee) + $519 (2007 maintenance fees)
