Has anybody stayed at either recently? What is the difference (besides check-in day) between the two?

Thanks
Nancy

I stayed at Oyster Bay in March and at Oyster Pointe about a year and a half before that. Oyster Pointe units have Friday check-ins and are closer to the fishing pier/boat dock and beach areas. Oyster Bay is a short walk from the Oyster Pointe units and the dock - maybe half a block or so. The interior of the units are similar. The only difference that I noted during our March visit was that there were more children in the Oyster Pointe pool and less at Oyster Bay, so it was a bit quieter at OB. In March, they were almost finished with putting vinyl siding on the outside of all the units - the pale yellow color looked nice.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

Thanks Evelyn,

I'll have 4 kids with me, so kids won't make a difference. These are farther south than we wanted, but keep popping up, so maybe we'll have to grab them.

How about the BOAT?

We are going to Oyster Point in August...We're excited about the 15 foot motorboat that comes with the week ($50 fee for gas). Has anyone cruised the intercoastal waterway? Are there any restaurants to dock at?
Thanks!

When we went at Christmas 2005, we took the boat out one or two days and went fishing near the Sebastian Inlet. I caught a flounder which was delicious! The gas tanks are small, so the dockmaster does tell you how far up or down the intracoastal you can go before you have to turn back and still have enough gas to make it. The other days of this vacation were too windy to take out the boats. When we went this past March, the weather didn't cooperate and it was very windy - we had several days with small craft warnings. So we didn't even get on the water. They say that the winds die down during the summer and the water is like glass. I'll believe it when I see it!!! Have fun!
