Manhattan Club ? Need quick advise!
Hello,
thanks to TUG posters, I have a Manhattan Club on hold for next summer. HOWEVER, it's a studio and I am thinking it'll just be too crowded. Has anyone stayed there with 4 adults? Are we insane? We have stayed in NY before and know how we are not in our room much, but after reading a lot of reviews, being in a studio with 4 would be crazy. Any thoughts?? |

It may depend on your relationship with the other adults. Personally, I think you would be fine as long as 2 of the people don't mind sleeping on a sleeper sofa bed. Once the bed is put back in, there's room to walk. I think so many people have gotten use to the large units in Orlando, Williamsburg and Branson that they're a bit spoiled. We had 2 adults and 3 teenagers and survived just fine in one of those units. You really aren't there that much anyway.

I would probably find it too crowded. The studio units are fairly spacious; however, all 4 of you will be sleeping in one room. And there is only one bathroom. A one-bedroom unit, if it becomes available, would be much more ideal.

I was at the Manhattan Club last week with my friend. We were fortunate to have a one-br unit. We had the chance to look around at a studio that was being cleaned--no way would I want to share a studio with four adults! Although it was bigger than an average hotel room, there would be absolutely no privacy whatsoever since you are just in one room (the l-shapes are a little better but you can't be sure of getting one, I'm told)
In our case, the sofa bed in our 1-br was extremely uncomfortable and my friend opted to just sleep on it as a sofa, which could not be an option for a couple. I've heard that you can get a cot, but she didn't want to bother. I would also suggest that you would have to be very very very good friends to share even the one-brs. The way it was laid out, the one br had a lot of privacy but if you wanted to get to the refrigerator or if the couple on the sofa bed wanted to hit the sack before you came back from carousing--well, you'd have to go right past them. The Manhattan Club was a great place to stay, though! |
