King Tut in Philly
Thinking on leaving our t/s in AC to go over to Philly for the day. Has anyone been to the King Tut exhibit and can advise if it is worth it and, if so, how much time should we spend there. Also, there are two separate IMAX films. Either one worth watching?

We saw it in Chicago last summer. Great show. I saw it as a teenager in New York, and the presentation was much more involving this time. I would allow about two hours to see the show, or longer if you have a high tolerance for crowds. It's a little intense angling in to get close to the objects and take a good look.
My sister also saw it in Chicago several times and recommends the audio tape tour. |

We're going this Thursday. We've purchased tickets in advance and the tickets specify an entry time in 30 minute intervals. i recently saw an ad indicating tickets for $25 for entry after 5PM.

TUT
Highly recommend the audio tape. Try to get the earliest entrance slot that you can, it can get very crowded. A week day would be less crowded that a weekend. We say the Imax film "Mummies, Secrets of the Pharaohs" it was very good. You can get a discount on parking (at the Franklin Inst.) if you get the ticket validated at the info booth inside where you purchase the tickets. The teenagers with us found the exhibit and the museum to be well worth the trip and we adults felt it was well worth the $$$$. I did see the exhibit in Washington (the original Tut Tour) and this exhibit had items from other family members/Pharaohs; not just Tutankhamun. I did not find it less interesting but other people were expressing displeasure that there was not more Tut stuff. I think you will have a good time.
