Ok...yet another Newbie question! Just trying to do my homework before diving in!

If I buy a FF timeshare with 105,000 points tomorrow (7/19/2007) and all 2007 (annual) points are available, will title/ownership transfer to me in time for me to use these before they expire. If I have to wait up to 90 days, it will be November before I can access these points. Basically, how long does it take for FF to recognize me as the new owner and the points be available for me to use?

Thanks again!

Michael & Kelly

It is deed, so it first need go through local government, then get to FF, which will go through it financial dept and title to make sure everything is O.K.

Then since you are new owner, it needs to set up FF account as well as RCI account

So it could take as quick as 2 month, and may drag upto 8 month (if it is foreign government)

Usually, after 3/4 of the use year (FF has different use year, the point expired at different quarter) you either nog. with seller to not pay 2007 MF and give up 2007 point, or have seller arrange something and either transfer these to you, or just give you a Guest Certificate. If it is deposit to RCI or GC, you will end up paying extra. You can do that, or just wait to see if you get it before it expired, then you probably will deposit it to RCI yourself.

This is really strange! I just won an eBay auction for 105,000 annual FF points today. :cheer:

I was wondering the same things, only my anniversary date month is April, so I'm assuming I'll be registered long before then. From what I understand as long as you book something before they age 2 years you won't lose anything.

Did you take the plunge?

For a brand new owner who has a very efficient seller and closing company, your new FF/Wyn account can be set up in as little a 2 months. For the run of the mill overworked closing company, it will probably be 3 or 4 months. Getting your FF/Wyn RCI weeks account will take even longer, another 2 to 4 months.

You have to use your points by the end of your Use Year or you lose them. However, to extend their life you can make deposits into RCI that will be good for 2 years from the date (month) you deposit them.

Thanks Mike,

Your answer applies to both of us. So FF points expire at the end of the use-year? They don't roll over to a second year as many do? I've still got a lot to learn, I see.

I'm still curious if Mike & Kelly got their FF points, or if we were perhaps bidding on the same item number. :)
