I'm a Marriott owner exchanging into Harbour Club on HHI for the first time. Where do they usually assign exchangers as far as the villa location? I know the resort is small. Does the location really matter that much? Is there any view from the top floor? Are balcony sizes different on the various floors?

Is there no one who is an owner at Harbour Club or who has stayed there recently who can answer my questions?

I exchanged last summer there....you are right it is very small. As far as the view goes nothing much to look at. Our unit was on the side of the front entrance. I would ask for a unit facing the pool--again though not much to look at--the pool is very small. If you are to the left of the front entrance you could see Harbour Town in the distance. The building was not very high--we were on the 3rd floor.

There are different size balconies. Our balcony was a triple size that faced the pool. I can't recall our unit # but I posted it on TUG reviews 5+ yrs ago. We had a side view of the marina and yachts. We were either on the 3rd or 5th floor. There is parking under the building. Maybe there are 40 units in the building. I liked it. Units were 1400 sq ft.

An upscale restaurant is next door and a bakery. Crazy Crab and the former Cafe Europa in the lighthouse are walkable to the marina. It was recently renamed and remodeled(was Cafe Europa). There is also a mini market across the street in the marina shops. America and Spirit of Hilton Head boat tours are at that marina.

Truffles and a few shops are down the road ,maybe 1-2 miles in a plaza. Truffles is great for lunch. Nice meals and atmosphere. We rode our bikes there.

Salty Dog and Zodiac boat tours are at South Beach Marina in Sea Pines. We also rode there on bikes but you may want to drive.

Just checked my review from June 2002. The front door of our unit faced the marina and CQs restaurant next door.Harbor Town Bakery Cafe is right there as well. The triple balcony faced the courtyard. It was unit 3935.
