Question How to book two Hawaii islands airline tickets

We have exchanged one week to Kauai and one week to Hawaii (Big Island).
How do we find the best deal for the airline tickets -
1. buy roundtrip tickets from LAX & inter-island tickets seperately, or
2. Round-trip to the Big Island with a "stopover" in Kauai
(Can we enter "stopover" on the airline or Orbitz web site by ourselves?)
3. book multi-cities flights on the same airline web site?

Which airline web sites do you suggest we check the fare? Would you please you list the web sites to purchae the inter-island tickets?

When would be the best time to book for April 2008? UAL shows >$700 now (Inbound to and Outbound from different islands; without the inter-island flight) per person.

Thanks!

Resorts: Club La Pension, Quarter House, Hotel L'Eau Vive - NOLA, Nob Hill Inn - SF, Allen House - London, Custom House - Boston,
Try all those ways, and see what you get. But right now, that Mesa Airlines affiliate (is it Go Airlines?) has interisland tickets as low as a dollar each way, so you might get the best deal flying into Honolulu, and then taking a separate flight to the outer islands.

Try pleasanthawaiianholidays.com they will although you tp imput more than 1 island. You must book at least air +car to use them but I have seen some pretty good rates compared to United/Hawaiian/ and ATA sites and they use the same flights.
