which williamsburg resort is best for us
I would love to hear your opinions about which resort you think is best for us for end of august 2008 in Williamsburg. 2 adults and 2 kids who love to swim and we'll do the parks and history stuff. For our studio exchange we can only get the studio at MSE but really need more room. These so far are our choices:
A 1 or 2 bed in Williamsburg Plantation WLM A 1-bed in Westgate WWM A 2-bed in Sunterra Greenspring I've read some reviews but appreciate any further comments among these 3. Thanks! |

Greensprings would be my first choice.
They have a nice outdoor pool and it is the nicest units IMO. The location isn't as good as Westgate, but it's a rebuild of a hotel. Send me a PM if you want any more Williamsburg information. |

id also recommend greensprings, especially since 2BR is available.
ive stayed in the 2BR, and the unit / build quality was pretty good, although the atmosphere at powhatan plantation was better. |

The two bedroom units at Greensprings are spacious with plenty of room for you family. They also have a relatively nice pool area and grounds for the kids to play. I have pics of Greensprings Plantation at
Of all the resrots you've listed, we've only stayed at Manor Club and Greensprings. Personally, I prefer Manor Club but we don't travel with young kids at this point. With the kids I'd be more inclined to stay at Greensprings because the pools are, IMO, better for families with children. I prefered the overall quality of the accomadations at Manor Club but found the pools, if I were to have used them, disappointing. There are also pictures of Manor Club on our webshots page. If you have trouble accessing the pics through the above link to our Greensprings album you can always access all our Webshots pictures through the link in my signature below.

Resorts: More than I need... |
We spent a week at Greensprings with our two young kids this summer and we all loved it. It's a large resort -- very spread out. There's a lot of green space in the complex itself, plus most buildings look out onto a golf course. Our unit had a beautiful view. The parks and restaurants, although not right next door, are all within a very reasonable distance.
We haven't stayed at Westgate, but we drove by it. It's on one of the main streets and so it is very, very close to restaurants. However, I thought it looked rather compact (a lot of buildings and parking lots on a small space, without much green space). I prefer to have a little space for my kids to run and get exercise ... so I would pick Greensprings if we were to go again. John |
