Just received a letter in the mail about the release of sales of Phase Five, with an incentive of 340,000 Marriott Reward points and the option to receive 50,000 points per year for the first 10 years of ownership for each week purchased.

The letter goes on to say that Platinum weeks have been unavailable at this resort for the past 16 months, and that this may be the last opportunity to purchase a Marriott Platinum week for under $20,000 (obviously through the developer)

Sales must be initiated by mail prior to August 8, 2007.

We don't own here, but we did the sales presentation here and bought the Grande Vista here.

Just in case anyone is interested in those points.....

It looks like Marriott has gotten serious about offering rewards/pricing for the resorts that have been more slow moving......Legends Edge & Fairway villas.

Seems like good marketing to me.

I didn't realize that the sales at Fairway Villas was slow. I thought since it is close to Atlantic City and shore points that would be an advantage.

Fairway has been a tough sale for Marriott.

The good thing (for them) is that they handle sales of the other resorts from Fairway through their portfolio group. That's why they won't kill it off like they did to Legends Edge...

The 50,000 points per year is probably tied into financing for the full 10 years.

50K points tied to financing.

I just had a nice talk with Nancy Snider at Marriott telesales. She confirmed that the 50K is tied to 13.94% financing. You get 25K for making on time payments every six months. She also said that you can make payments on a Marriott Visa and get points there as well.

Marriott did the exact promotion to close out Legends Edge. The annual points were raised from 75,000 every other use to 100,000 every use. 50,000 a year for financing etc..

Legends Edge is platinum for most of the year. It shouldn't be, as it has little demand. I turned in my '07 year for points, but wanted to stay a few days there in July. I called and received a quote of $209/night. (25% owners discount)

and don't forget the $6 per month mandatory servicing charge because 13.94% just is not enough to charge.......
