Advantage Car Rental

Has anyone used Advantage Car Rental in Phoenix? We'll be renting an SUV and we're getting comparable rate quotes from Advantage and Payless, but Payless charges and additional $9 per day for my spouse to drive, while Advantage charges $5 per day for the additional driver. We've never used Advantage Car Rental before, so we'd be interested in hearing about anyone's experiences with them.
Thanks!
Gary

Please don't limit yourself to these two. We frequently get comparable or better rates from Hotwire or Priceline. Additionally, certain memberships (i.e., Costco) get you an additional driver at no cost. By the way, my husband just returned from a trip and used Fox Rent A Car. He had signed up for one of their specials ($13.50 per day) but, when he got there the agent talked him into a Honda Hybrid. The price was even lower than the internet option. It cost him $40 more for 4 days but, since he was putting 1,000 miles on the car (and driving to California)- he easily saved more than that on gas!

We've been checking for all kinds of discounts including Costco, AARP, AAA, Entertainment book, etc, along with Travelocity, Expedia and Hotwire. Hotwire was actually coming up slightly higher than the Payless and Advantage discounts we found, but we don't know if their price includes an additional driver. We've found discount quotes varying by as much as $200 for the 9 days we'll need the vehicle. So far Payless and Advantage have the lowest price, but they both charge additional for a spouse. We haven't used either of them before, and really don't know much about either of them. We've used Hotwire for hotels in the past, but not for car rentals. Do you know if Hotwire would include a spouse at no additional cost? Thanks.

I don't know anything about Advantage, except that there was nobody at their rental desk in Phoenix a few weeks ago when we picked up our car from Enterprise. We have lots of discount codes from various memberships, but even with the codes, we found the best deals on Enterprise through Travelocity. At the airport the Enterprise person took off another % for AAA, and they gave me a free upgrade when I wasn't happy with the first two cars (one was uncomfortable, the other was smoky)

HOWEVER, Enterprise had a long and slow line, while the other agencies, including Advantage, had no more than a few people waiting. I'm not sure saving $20-$30 was worth waiting over an hour before we drove out with a car!

I rented from Advantage in Albuquerque a couple of years ago. Everything was fine. Nice new car, easy to deal with, etc.
