Arrow www.travelbesttips.com

Hi,

I have created this collection of what I feel are the best travel saving tips (however, timesharing information is not included). In time, I may add additional information.

This resource is free for everyone and anyone to use. Let me know it you find it helpful.....ie it saves you money!!!!!

Also, if you find errors or have constructive advise.....love to hear from you, including private email.

My motto in creating this web site is:
Travel In Style For Less with www.travelbesttips.com

Note: I have no kick backs, advantages, income (can you imagine ) derived from www.travelbesttips.com It was developed from my own personal massive collection of book marks and I sent my son through college to obtain a Master's in Computer Science so I got his assistance in creating the site. I intend to further develop the site as time goes on. If it one day gets recognized by more of the Traveler's that need this information.....I will be happy

VERY well done, looks great, well designed, easy to read, not full of clutter.
Question - why not list TUG for rentals beyond hotels?

Question ebook question

I downloaded the ebook. However, was not able to open it. Is there a secret I need to know such as special software, etc?

Thanks for the suggestion. As you can see from my profile......I have only made a few posts at TUG BBS and I have only owned TS for app 1 yr......so.... I am on a learning curve. In time, I am sure that I will want to add some TS information to the site. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I am not aware of any problems with the eBook. As I talk to my son about your inability to open it......I will find out what he suggests. I will add to this soon.

Hi,
My son checked out the ebook here is his response:

'I just downloaded it and it works fine for me. I've only been able to test it on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. I don't know if it works on other versions of Windows and it doesn't work on Macs."

If you are still having problems let me know.

Nice travel page. Very nice.

Question, and it's not a snark, I'm genuinely interested. You've listed International Airfare Discount Consolidators. Have you used them, and found that they return a good value?

The reason I ask is several of the sites I visted just seem to be marketing ploys designed to elicit a phone call. Post a low fare and oops! it's no longer valid, how about this one, type of ploy. However, if they indeed have "consolidator fares" from you experience then it's worth considering.

Bottom line, I'm still searching for that elusive consolidator that can beat the rates we can find from the other boards.

Hi,
I have never needed a consolidator. All of the consolidators that I have listed are highly recommended by sources on the web. Most of the consolidators are operating with last minute inventory and they want to talk to you vs online reservations. If you need a good fare at the last minute without restrictions, I think the consolidators are worth a try. (Note: If they were just trying to get you to call without solutions......they wouldn't exist. Capitalism is very efficient.)

Just as we know that inventory at the last minute with TSs requires flexibility, the same is true with airfares through consolidators.

Research Is The Name Of The Travel Game.

Good Luck,

drgary

Still getting the same error message

Quote:
Windows cannot open this file:
File: travel_best_tips_ebook

To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer.
I am using Windows XP and when I go online to look it up automatically it gives me no help.

Hi,

I forwarded your issue to my son........he has a solution:

When they saved the file, they were missing the file extension at the end of the file. To fix this, they need to "rename" the file to "travel_best_tips_ebook.exe"

Let me know your outcome.

That would be great! I've gotten used to coming to Tug to look up travel info before going elsewhere.

Great site either way. Thanks!
