Whenever I see a rental on the LMB for CMV, there is a statement that renter must pay a housekeeping fee on checking in. this is for UDI cottages and Timbers. A friend of mine said that she booked her timbers for christmas and had to pay the $50 cleaning fee when she booked it.
So which is true, book it and pay the fee or check in and pay the fee?

Also there was some discussion about requesting a different unit in the same section upon check in, that is a different cottage or a different cabin, or a different villa, etc. Does Christmas Mountain let RCI exchangers request a different unit? Does it let owners who were booked into one unit request a different unit on check in?
When we checked in to a Deluxe timbers last week, I noticed the paperwork said Do Not Move and I also wondered about that.

Owners can pay up front or upon check in on UDI's, it is their choice. For renters most UDI owners have them pay so if there is a bad rental check the owner is not out a extra $50 or $48 dollars.

Anyone can request but it is not granted very often especially in the summer for several valid reasons. Mostly for a happicapped person, etc. Basically first come, first reserve.

We did have one renter request a different unit after looking at their cottage--they sited mold issues with the unit, and in the end were given a villa for the week. They were offered a different cottage to begin with, but after more discussion were given a choice between a timbers or a villa. From talking with them later, it sounds like they were quite firm and determined in their request, and it was early March, so I imagine there were more available units then during high season.

"do not move"

As to the "do not move" statement-I've had a reservationist type that into our reservation when we requested a specific unit at a resort. She said while it still didn't gaurentee that we would get the specific unit, it did increase the likelihood that we wouldn't be assigned a different unit at check-in. Maybe it was the same with your unit?

Yes, it was.

Unit Number at Reservation Time with Bluegreen

Lately, the Bluegreen reservation persons haven't been giving me the unit number when I request a unit and it's not on the reservation slip. Am I the only one with this problem?
Charles

No. They seem to have changed the confirmation form so it doesn't show the unit number.

I hate that!

No this happened to me many times too. You can still ask for the unit # that the reservation is made against. You'll most likely get that but no guarantee.

I always put "pay at the resort" for mine. If you are an owner, sometimes the front desk staff will switch you to an open unit if there happens to be one available. Usually, you need to be the owner to make the request, but I had a rentor get switched when they requested. My guess is that certain staff at the resort are more "flexible" than others.

I have only gotten that once. However, the resort itself is no longer giving you the unit number even if you are the owner calling into the resort. Not sure, but I think its BlueGreen attempting to give them more flexibility on what units to assign people into without getting a lot of grief from irate "switched" owners.

JMHO.
